From the photographer: Gabi and Roy’s wedding was a mixture of tradition, romance and a little bit of whimsy fun. The day began early in the morning with a delicious breakfast for the ladies. It was so special to finally be able to sit and chat with friends that Gabi had missed so much due to COVID restrictions. One of her favorite parts of the day was lounging on the venue’s chic and comfy couches, and on the front porch of Stone Mill’s bridal suite with her bridesmaids and closest friends. Amazingly, she didn’t feel nervous, but was completely ready to become Mrs Walker. When the photos with her bridesmaids started, everything began to speed up, and it wasn’t long before she was walking down the aisle to promise Roy forever. They had opted not to do a first look before the wedding, so when Roy saw Gabi coming up the path, he was in awe. She was stunning. Her dress, veil and flowers all together made her a vision of loveliness that was worth the wait. After an incredibly special ceremony, we took some pictures around the scenic grounds of Stone Mill Inn, then headed for a night of fun at the reception.
Because of the pandemic, things weren’t exactly as they had originally planned. They had to shorten their guest list, and make sure everything was sanitary. Little things you never would have thought about before, like signing a guest book, took on a whole new meaning. When asked how she felt about the effects of the pandemic on their wedding day, I love Gabi’s response. “ Regardless of all of the drama happening in the world at the time, we’re so glad we decided to have the wedding and the party. Every guest was so excited to be there and to have something to look forward to and celebrate. I hope the pandemic doesn’t scare other couples from getting married. There are so many creative solutions to keep people safe and healthy and feeling comfortable. We did wear masks for parts of the wedding, and we thought it would be weird, but it was totally worth it. I would much rather wear a mask and get to see my friends and family, than not wear one because it makes me uncomfortable, and then not be able to have the awesome day we had. It might not be the exact day you dream of, but it’s still 100% a magical day in its’ own way!”
And Gabi and Roy’s wedding was a magical day. Everything was perfectly beautiful. After an extended honeymoon to the Riviera Maya (one plus of the pandemic) they returned to New York to begin their lives together as husband and wife. It was an honor to capture the memories of their special day. I wish all the best to the happy couple! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Walker! May you have many years of happiness together!
