Originally posted in 2019- we thought this feature still rang true- Take a look back at our list of elevated barn venues in PA.

For 2019 2024 and beyond, these barn venues continue to prove that they are a timeless staple for wedding celebrations here in PA. For the past 10 years or so barn venues have taken off among couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle for a more laid back, intimate atmosphere. Back in the early 2010s barn venues grew in popularity. Becoming home of the burlap and mason jar trend. Where florals consisted solely of sunflowers, gerbera daisies and baby’s breath and the groomsmen wore blue jeans with suspenders. It was a simpler time and we’ve come along way from that. Having successfully revived baby’s breath by using it in arches and installs and there hasn’t been a mason jar spotted in about seven years. Yet, not all barns were able to pull away from the older barn trends and there became a divide for couples wanting that down home country feel or something that still felt a little rustic but had an air of elegance about it.

Enter the shift into the rustic chic era. Where the “rustic” mostly comes from the barn itself and the decor favored neutral tones with gold accents-although we’re finally bringing back color. Flowers like peonies, dahlias and ranunculus could be seen in bouquets and centerpieces with pedestal bowls. Groomsmen traded blue jeans for dapper suits they rented online. This rustic chic look shined a light on these elevated barn properties that could offer couples a touch of serenity with high-end class and style.

Each venue can be found tucked away from busy roads nestled within lush foliage and perfectly manicured lawns. With plenty of room for portraits outdoors and natural light flowing in. While the barns have been updated and restored, you can still find some of their original elements which only lends to their charm. Making these venues a timeless staple to host weddings for decades to come.

If you’re looking to plan your wedding day that includes a little getaway to Amish country, you can certainly add the Farm at Eagles Ridge to your venue tour. Make it a weekend event for your guests to spend the day enjoying the town and then celebrating with you at the Farm. Purchased by Stuart and Cynthia Herr in 1999, their two daughter’s Paige and Betsy envisioned the farm as a future wedding and event venue. Pretty soon this 1820’s farm was being restored into the gorgeous venue we know and love today. The farm sits on 150 acres and includes a pond, barn and of course the farmhouse. All of which are available for your wedding day.
