Lindsey and Tyler’s Green Lane Park Elopement

From the couple: We started having the conversation of postponing around mid May, and agreed that we would

make a final decision towards the end of July. We set this time frame because the last thing we wanted to do was jump the gun and postpone when maybe things would be better by the end of September. As time went on, we started to see the writing on the wall. Our guest list has over 230 people on it and Lindsey’s mom is immune-compromised. Cutting our guest list was not even a consideration for us because we both wanted to celebrate with all our family and friends on our big day. But even more than that, our number one priority was the safety of our guests. We refused to have a celebration where there would be restrictions in place and our guests would feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Once we agreed that postponing was the route we were going down, we started looking for dates that worked for all of our vendors next year. The date that we ended up selecting was July 10, 2021. Before choosing this date, we actually asked our venue for two different dates that were taken by other couples. This made us feel better that we weren’t the only couples doing this, but also assured us that this was urgent and we needed to lock down a new date as soon as possible! We’ve been together for over 7 years. All we wanted to do was to finally be married. We talked to each other and asked ourselves, “why wait any longer?”. That’s when we ultimately decided to elope this year. To make it even more special, we decided to elope on July 10th of this year, thus making next year’s party, a “one year anniversary/vow renewal” celebration!

Finding a spot to hold our elopement was a bit more difficult than we originally thought it would be as many of the parks we were looking at required permits to have photography and videography on the premises. Due to the pandemic, many parks weren’t issuing permits at the time. We probably spoke with 5 different parks in the area until we came across Green Lane Park. We loved the location and after talking with them, they agreed to allow us to hold our elopement there!

“We were at Green Lane Park for about an hour and by the end
of it, everyone was absolutely soaked, but it was so worth it.
Our vendors were so flexible and willing to adjust to whatever we decided, but we’re so glad we
kept everything the way it was. We’re now officially married and can’t wait to celebrate with our
family and friends next year at our reception!”
