When you think of Pennsylvania as wedding destination, you often picture farms, city chic ballrooms and grand estates. But, it’s not often we picture romantic cliffside elopements with views so pretty they could be in a magazine. Oh wait. We already did that! Yes. That’s right. Not only can you actually have a romantic cliffside elopement right here in PA, we put it in our magazine.
Esme and Elvis are childhood sweethearts who first crossed paths when they were just kids in the single digits while at church. A few years later, 11 year old Elvis laid eyes on Esme wearing a white dress and knew she was the one. They dated on and off throughout their teenage years before coming back together again. On May 18, 2016 Elvis officially asked Esme to be his wife. Their engagement lasted three years and they faced challenges from their families about being so young. When they were married they never even had wedding photos taken.
Elvis, who works for photographer, Neliz Photography, happened to be telling his boss this story one day and she decided to plan a surprise vow renewal elopement (by herself!) for Elvis and Esme.
One of the most notable aspects of their wedding was its intimacy as an elopement. The private affair on the Pinnacle Overlook in Lancaster County allowed Esme and Elvis to focus solely on each other and the commitment they were making. Surrounded by a select few loved ones, they exchanged their vows and sealed their love in a sacred union with breathtaking views of the Susquehanna River in the background. Not only did they get the chance for the ceremony of their dreams they can now cherish these stunning photographs for generations of their family to come.
