Not every love story starts with a Star Wars shirt, but for Susan and Rhys, that’s where it all began. The two were professional dancers in New York City, and when Rhys walked by Susan in the hall, they first laid eyes on each other. He was wearing his Star Wars shirt, and she complimented him.
Flash forward a bit, and you could find Susan and Rhys in New Zealand on a Lord of The Rings filming tour. It was here that Rhys proposed and where they would begin planning their Carnegie Museum wedding.
Their wedding day started at The Glassy House, a unique, modern Airbnb located in the “south side” of Pittsburgh, which features bright pops of color and nostalgic items like a vintage Pac-Man arcade game. Setting the tone of the celebrations ahead with this fun couple.
Susan and Rhys exchanged vows on the steps inside the museum with wedding rings made out of dinosaur bones, just like the ones on exhibit at their venue, where they had their first look earlier in the day. And it was no surprise to us when we saw the lightsaber send-off at the end of their wedding day. A perfect homage to their unique love story.
