Julia + Patrick’s Real Wedding at Overbrook Golf Club

Julia+ Patrick | Wedding at Overbrook Golf Club

Love has a way of bringing people together, and that’s exactly what happened with Pat and Julia. Their journey began at Susquehanna University, where they quickly bonded over shared interests, business classes, and a love for sports. As fate would have it, they both had plans to study abroad in London during their junior year, which solidified their connection even further. Although they initially chose to remain friends after graduating in 2015, destiny had different plans in store. So, in 2017, they rekindled their love and became inseparable.

Julia and Patrick celebrated their union in a luxurious black-tie wedding at the elegant Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova, Pennsylvania. Their celebration exuded timeless charm and sophistication with a touch of old-world romance. The Georgian-style architecture of the estate, which dates back to 1900, evoked the elegance of English estates and provided a stunning backdrop without requiring much additional effort. Inside, the interior boasted dramatic elements, including black, white, and gold marble floors, a navy blue library, and dark oak furniture.

Setting the tone for the 240 guests were the exquisitely designed invitations and stationery, crafted Amy Elizabeth Artistry and Allicat Calligraphy. Deep emerald green, gold, and ivory hues adorned the elegant pieces, which featured a painting of Overbrook, a custom monogram, and a wax seal with an elegant tassel.

Julia’s family played an integral role in her wedding day, as she incorporated the tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. Her “something old” was a handkerchief passed down from her grandmother’s own wedding, while her wedding dress held a special significance as it was inspired by her late mother’s timeless and elegant style. The off-the-shoulder ball gown by Justin Alexander featured lace appliqué on the bodice, an extra-long train, and a delicate shade of light pink. The gown paired seamlessly with a circular cut Mikado skirt, complete with pockets and crystal buttons that adorned the cathedral-length train.

The groom, Pat, exuded class, sophistication, and timelessness in his custom black tuxedo by Jeffrey Scott. His attire perfectly complemented the atmosphere of the wedding, adding a touch of refined elegance to the occasion.

This black-tie affair served as an inspiration to all who attended. Julia, the bride, brought in a palette of neutrals to contrast the rich colors of the mansion venue. Pale pinks, creams, and lush greenery adorned the floral arrangements, while crystal vases and abundant candles added an extra touch of romance. The infusion of green details throughout, from the florals to the bridesmaids’ dresses and even Julia’s Gucci heels, added to the overall splendor of the event.

Julia and Patrick’s wedding day was filled with countless beautiful moments that will stay forever etched in their memories. From the laughter and joy shared among friends to the tender and emotional exchanges between family members, each moment added to the magic of the day. As a cherished friend from high school, photographer Josiah felt honored to play a role in capturing such a beautiful wedding, which he says felt like a remarkable celebration of love.
