Makenna and Collin’s Golden Hour Wedding at Americus Hotel

Makenna and Colin have been best friends since they were 11 years old while growing up in the Lehigh Valley area of PA. Yet their relationship beyond just friends didn’t officially take off until Junior year of high school. Each went their own way for college, Colin-Penn State and Makenna-Bryn Mawr College but they continued to date for the next decade until becoming Mr. and Mrs. in 2023. 

Wearing her mother’s garter and jewelry, Makenna spent the morning getting ready surrounded by friends and family. Special heirlooms included the bride’s wedding band from 1934 and custom made pocket squares made from her dress were given to her father and groom to be. Soon making their way over to St. John’s UCC in Emmaus, PA. The church holds a special place for Makenna as she is the 5th generation of woman on her mother’s side to get married at the church- going back to her great-great grandmother!

After exchanging vows, the newlyweds and their respective bridal parties headed to West Park for portraits and then back to the Americus Hotel for a reception. The 1920s hotel still features the original windows, crystal chandeliers and staircase from when it opened its doors in 1927.
